POSITION TITLE:                    Fitness Coordinator (Community Recreation Program)

CURRENT ASSIGNMENT:     Mexico High School

CERTIFICATION:                    Civil Service – Non-Competitive Class

                                                      *Must meet the Civil Service requirements for the Recreation Leader II title                        

START DATE:                             As soon as possible

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The Fitness Coordinator will be responsible for staffing and maintaining the schedule for the Community Recreation Program, which includes: Swimming Pool, Indoor Track, and the Strength and Conditioning Center.

  • Review and process timesheets
  • Schedule new member training appointments
  • Maintain district website and all forms of communication with community members
  • Order supplies and schedule equipment maintenance
  • Cover “open” shifts to maintain normal community use hours
  • Prepare reports, assist with hiring and evaluating hourly workers
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
  • Supervisory experience, preferably in a community recreation and/or fitness environment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older, requires CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • NYS Fingerprinting Clearance

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Part-time, probationary appointment
  • 12-month position
  • Morning Coordinator
  • Hours: 2-3 hours per day between 5:00am and 8:00am, Monday-Friday and 9:00am-12:00pm, Saturday
  • $17.00 per hour

POSITION TITLE:              JV Football Coach (2 positions)                                                                 

ASSIGNMENT:                    Mexico High School

START DATE:                     2026-2027 Sports Season  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification, training, and background in the sport
  • Coaching experience in particular sport
  • Other coaching training
  • Participation in sports
  • Genuine interest in working with our students, and in cooperation with the Physical Education Program
  • Preference may be given to individuals teaching within the building in which these activities occur
  • Applicants should include an up-to-date summary of experience, and other pertinent data
  • Applicants must hold current CPR/AED and First Aid for Coaches

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Part-time
  • Stipend as per MACSFA contract

Positions & Rates for the 2025-2026 School Year:

  • Hourly Fitness Worker                                                                       $16.00 per hour
  • Learn-to-Swim Instructor                                                                   $16.00 per hour                                   
  • Lifeguard                                                                                            $16.50 per hour       

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 Hourly Fitness Worker

  • Must be 16 years of age or older, requires CPR/AED/First Aid Certification;
  • On-site duties associated with assisting members and supervising the use of the Strength & Conditioning Center, and Indoor Track;
  • Responsible for cleaning machines and ensuring proper working order;
  • Assist with new member paperwork;
  • Issue new membership cards;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Fitness Coordinator and/or Athletic Director.

Learn-to-swim Instructor

  • Instructs beginning swimmers
  • Keeps the pool free of debris
  • Keeps order among swimmers
  • Enforces pool rules
  • Prepares and maintains routine records/reports
  • Applicants must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Applicants must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.

Lifeguard

  • Instructs beginning adult swimmers
  • Keeps the pool free of debris
  • Keeps order among swimmers
  • Enforces pool rules
  • Prepares and maintains routine records/reports
  • Applicants must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Applicants must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Applicants must hold Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
