POSITION TITLE:             Substitute Hourly Fitness Workers    

ASSIGNMENT:                   Mexico High School (Community Recreation Program)

START DATE:                     As Soon As Possible  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 16 years of age or older, requires CPR/AED/First Aid Certification;
• NYS Fingerprinting Clearance (18 years of age and older);
• On-site duties associated with assisting members and supervising the use of the Strength & Conditioning Center, and Indoor Track;
• Responsible for cleaning machines and ensuring proper working order;
• Assist with new member paperwork;
• Issue new membership cards;
• Other duties as assigned by the Fitness Coordinator and/or Athletic Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Part-time, temporary appointment
• $16.00/hour

Positions & Rates for the 2026-2027 School Year:

• Hourly Fitness Worker                                                            $16.00 per hour
• Learn-to-Swim Instructor                                                        $16.00 per hour
• Lifeguard                                                                                 $16.50 per hour

• Instructs beginning swimmers
• Keeps the pool free of debris
• Keeps order among swimmers
• Enforces pool rules
• Prepares and maintains routine records/reports

Lifeguard

• Instructs beginning adult swimmers
• Keeps the pool free of debris
• Keeps order among swimmers
• Enforces pool rules
• Prepares and maintains routine records/reports
• Applicants must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• Applicants must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid
• Applicants must hold Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
