POSITION TITLE:                   Hourly Food Service Helper                                                     

CURRENT ASSIGNMENT:    Food Services Department (Mexico High School)                                                              

CERTIFICATION:                    Civil Service - Labor Class

START DATE:                           As Soon As Possible

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the proper methods of serving food
  • Knowledge of the care of kitchenware, small and large kitchen appliances
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to maintain good personal relationships with children and adults

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Probationary appointment
  • 10-month position (working the school calendar)
  • High School: 10:00am-12:00pm
  • $16.00 per hour
  • Benefits based on CSEA contract
  • Hours may vary per supervisor’s discretion to meet district needs

                                               Mexico High School (0.5 FTE)

CERTIFICATION:                Valid NYS Certification                                                            

START DATE:                      September 2026

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid NYS Certification in Spanish (Grades 7-12) or equivalent
  2. Strong commitment to children
  3. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
  4. Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards and understanding of effective classroom instruction
  5. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  6. Alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Full-time, probationary appointment
  • 10-month position
  • Salary and benefits as per MACSFA contract

Positions & Rates for the 2025-2026 School Year:

  • Hourly Fitness Worker                                                                       $16.00 per hour
  • Learn-to-Swim Instructor                                                                   $16.00 per hour                                   
  • Lifeguard                                                                                            $16.50 per hour       

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 Hourly Fitness Worker

  • Must be 16 years of age or older, requires CPR/AED/First Aid Certification;
  • On-site duties associated with assisting members and supervising the use of the Strength & Conditioning Center, and Indoor Track;
  • Responsible for cleaning machines and ensuring proper working order;
  • Assist with new member paperwork;
  • Issue new membership cards;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Fitness Coordinator and/or Athletic Director.

Learn-to-swim Instructor

  • Instructs beginning swimmers
  • Keeps the pool free of debris
  • Keeps order among swimmers
  • Enforces pool rules
  • Prepares and maintains routine records/reports
  • Applicants must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Applicants must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.

Lifeguard

  • Instructs beginning adult swimmers
  • Keeps the pool free of debris
  • Keeps order among swimmers
  • Enforces pool rules
  • Prepares and maintains routine records/reports
  • Applicants must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Applicants must be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Applicants must hold Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
